PRIVACY & TRUST
Privacy policy
Your stream stays on your screen. Any feedback you choose to share stays under your control.
YouTube Stream Chat Overlay uses YouTube API Services. By using the app, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
What the app uses
When you choose Sign in with YouTube, the desktop app requests read-only permission to identify your currently active livestream, read its live-chat messages, and show stream viewer statistics. It does not request permission to upload, edit, publish, or delete YouTube content.
Data stored on your computer
The app stores its settings and, if you choose to stay connected, a Google refresh token on your Windows device. That token is protected with Windows encrypted storage. Chat messages and viewer figures are used to display your overlay and are not sent to Georgemff or a third-party analytics service by the app.
Feedback you choose to submit
The website feedback form stores the feedback category, your message, the name and email address you optionally provide, your choice about featuring the feedback as a review, and the time of submission. Feedback is optional; you do not need to submit it to use the app or website.
Optional website analytics
With your permission, the website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate visits, page activity, device and browser information, approximate location, and interaction with site buttons. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish sessions. We load it only after you choose Allow analytics in the cookie banner. We do not send feedback text, names, email addresses, Google account data, or YouTube data to Google Analytics. You can decline or change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the website footer.
How we use feedback
We use feedback to investigate bugs, decide what to build, improve the app and website, and reply when you provide an email address. We do not sell feedback or use it for advertising or profiling. We do not add your email to a marketing list through the feedback form.
Reviews and public display
Feedback is private by default. We may consider publishing feedback as a review only when you select the permission checkbox in the form. If we publish a review, we will not publish your email address. We may use the name you provided, or attribute the review anonymously.
Storage, retention, and deletion
Website feedback is stored in Supabase, our database service provider. We keep it only for as long as reasonably necessary to improve and support the app, or as required by law. You can request access to or deletion of your feedback by emailing Georgemff. To help us locate a submission, include the name or email used and an approximate submission date.
How Google data is used
Google and YouTube data is used only to provide the overlay features you request: finding your live chat, displaying messages, and displaying stream viewer information. The app does not sell, rent, share, or use this data for advertising or profiling.
Security
The app uses Google’s browser-based authorization flow with PKCE and a local return address. It does not ask for, receive, or store your Google password. The feedback table is protected so visitors may submit feedback but cannot read, edit, or delete other submissions. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Third-party services
The app uses Google OAuth and YouTube API Services. The website uses Supabase to store feedback submissions and, only with your analytics consent, Google Analytics 4 to measure website usage. Their handling of information is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms, in addition to this policy.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app changes. The current version will always appear on this page. For questions, privacy requests, or complaints, contact Georgemff at georgemff@outlook.com.
Supabase
Supabase processes submitted feedback on our behalf. You can read its Privacy Policy for more information about its service.
